The Blue River-Kansas City Baptist Association is a network of more than 130 Baptist Churches throughout Jackson and Cass counties. The Association was formed more than 20 years ago when the Kansas City and Blue River Associations merged to form one large regional Association. (Now you know where the name came from).
Associations are certainly not new. In fact, the first entity that Baptist formed (beyond the local church) was the Baptist Association. The first Association was formed 300 years ago in New England. Today there are more than 1200 Associations located in every corner of the USA. Today associations help churches and their leaders connect to each other for information, resources, fellowship, support and strategic partnerships. Associations are more vital today than ever.
Associations like ours consist of autonomous, self-governing, local Baptist churches who choose to work along side each other for the singular purpose of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus. At its best an Association is churches serving together and serving each other.
The Blue River-Kansas City Association maintains an office and resource center at 4001 NE Lakewood Way in Lee's Summit, The Missouri Baptist Children's Home also conducts ministry from this location. Your Association has a Director of Missions, Nodell Dennis and two Associate Directors, Loren Hutchinson and John Mark Clifton. The Association provides a myriad of resources to and through its churches.
