Google Earth Tour of the Association
Google Earth is a marvelous new software from the folks at Google. Once installed on your computer, it gives you access to digital photos of the entire planet.
The link below contains a file that Google Earth will open and display on your computer. The folder name in Google witll be "BR-KC Churches", and it will contain information on every church and chapel in the Association.
You can expand the folder to show all of the churches, and by clicking on the icon next to a church name, be immediately taken to an arial photograph of the church. The church's icon near its name will also open to show you the church's address and telephone number.
But the real fun in the program is to run a "tour" of the churches. Highlight the BR-KC Churches folder, place a check mark in the box next to the folder name, and then press F10 to 'Play the tour.' Beginning at the BR-KC Mission Center, you will view a 'flight' around the Association to every church's location, pausing at each church for a few seconds*.
This will give you and your church members a visual concept of the size and diversity of the Association like no other format can.
Once it is installed, click here to download the BR-KC Churches.kmz file from our web site. Once this file is saved on your computer, double clicking it will open Google Earth and display the file. It will help you a great deal if you check the "Roads" and "Borders" boxes on the Google Earth control panel. Seeing the major highways and street divisions will help you keep track of where you are in the metro area. Check the box next to the BR-KC Churches folder so all of the place names are selected and press F10 to start the tour.
For maximum viewing pleasure, be sure to press F11 to view the tour in Full Screen mode once it is started. Enjoy!
