Church Planting
One of the key ministries of the Association is Church Planting. We work with the state convention and our churches to network church planters with churches wanting to start new works. Contact Dr. Hammer if you would like to find out how your church can assist in a new church plant.
Leader Training
The Association staff will work with your church to provide any kind of leader training you need. With over 125 congregations and 40,000 members, we can always find someone with the expertise you need and network your need with that expert training. All we ask is that you open the training event to others in the Association. Contact Loren Hutchinson for details.
Disaster Relief
We have an active DR ministry that includes a Chain Saw Unit and a Mobile Feeding Unit. Click on the links to see more details about each unit.
Pastor/Staff Resumes
We keep a file of resumes from persons wishing to find a ministry postion in our area. Come by the Mission Center if your search committee would like to look through the files. We will make copies for you if you find some of interest.
Search Committee Training
We would be happy to meet with your search committee and train them on the various aspects of their work and give them information about what resources are available to assist them. Contact Dr. Hammer for details.
Pulpit Supply/Interim Staff
We have a list of area ministers who are happy to fill your pulpit when your pastor or worship leader need to be out of town. We can also help you find an interim to fill a need while your church is seeking permanent staff positions. Contact Lisa McMechan for the list.
Consultations
The Association staff is available to meet with pastors, church staff and members for the purpose of consultation on any number of issues. Whether it be revisioning the church's ministries, conflict management or simply providing a different perspective to issues and problems, we stand ready to advise and assist as long as the church feels it is beneficial.
Missions and Ministry Support Club
The MMSC is a group of several hundred people who have volunteered to give an offering two times each year for a church in need. Members purchase "shares" in the club by designating how much they wil donate each time a call is placed with the club. If you designate a $10 share, then you would be committing to $20 each year; a $100 share would mean $200 per year. Whenever a church faces an emergency need, the MMSC can raise several thousand dollars in a very short time. Contact Lisa McMechan to become a member.
Impact Student Ministries
The Association provides the operating budget for Impact Student Ministries, the collegiate ministry at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. The campus minister's salary is provided by the Missouri Baptist Convention. Visit the Impact Ministries web site here.
